LEC Technology Components

CeeLite® platform LEC lighting technology generally consists of three distinct components: (i) the LEC lighting panels, (ii) our proprietary inverter technology, and (iii) the packaging process. Each component is summarized below.

LEC Panels

LEC panels incorporate closely-held, proprietary trade secret information and proprietary knowledge that we believe distinguish our LEC lighting panels form other lighting options. This closely-held, proprietary trade secret, information and knowledge provides for brighter panels that have a longer life through higher sustainable operating voltages and provide a more uniform illumination across their surface.

LEC lighting panels are approximately one millimeter thick, can be flexible, semi-rigid or rigid, are produced in stocking sizes/shapes (from 8.75 square inches to 18 square feet) by a screen-printing process that deposits layers of electrodes, phosphors and dielectrics. The following chart illustrates the various layers that comprise our LEC panels:

Inverter Technology and Control Devices

CeeLite Technologies currently designs and produces, through a manufacturing partner, our own proprietary inverters for our LEC lighting panels. The inverter is the electronics component of our solution that helps to serve as the programming component of our overall flat-lighting system. Our proprietary Flatline Inverter design includes electronics that power our LEC panels to provide a relatively constant light output and optimize the LEC panels’ life.

Our Flatline Inverters are programmable with proprietary software that provides brightness control as well as other functions, such as fading and flashing. Such controls can be provided as standard features. Our proprietary inverter designs also include what we believe to be unique safety features well suited for a number of applications. The following diagram illustrates our Flatline Inverter which can be operated with AC or DC power.

CeeLite Technologies will also provide a variety of control devices to be used with our Flatline Inverters in different applications. These control devices coordinate and provide sequenced effects over multiple LEC panels, fade-in/fade-out/flash effect for a single LEC panel and support motion sensors and photo sensors through a port on the control device

Standard Packaging Process

LEC lighting panels are produced with transparent packaging or “protective laminates.” These protective laminates protect the LEC panels from moisture, humidity and other environmental conditions that negatively impact phosphor performance and enable safe handling of the LEC panels themselves.

LEC lighting products standard packaging can be configured in flexible, semi-rigid and rigid forms, depending on the application. When used only with protective laminates, LEC panels are flexible. To provide structural rigidity, we can encapsulate our LEC panels in a co-polyester material that also protects against the elements for use in outdoor applications while maintaining a high translucency. Sheets of a polycarbonate or acrylic materials may also be used to provide structural rigidity to our LEC panels for indoor or less severe environmental conditions.

For example, we use a product to encapsulate our standard LEC panels which we have used to develop outdoor street and traffic sign systems illuminated by our platform LEC Technology, which allow end-users to install the LEC Street Signs on existing sign mast arms with the same weight requirements as existing non-illuminated street signs. As part of the systemization of our platform LEC lighting technology, we use a unique connector design utilizing patent-pending safety circuits to cut power to the LEC panels in case of an accident
